Yi Zhang is a doctoral candidate and Research Graduate Assistant III at the University of Maryland in the Department of Geographical Sciences. He got his Master of Science (M.S.) degree at the College of Global Change and Earth System Science, Beijing Normal University and Bachelor of Engineering (M.E.) degree at the School of Remote Sensing and Information Engineering, Wuhan University. He has extensive experiences in satellite remote sensing application studies. His main research areas include remote sensing, energy budget and climate change. He has worked on algorithm development, improvement and validation for the NOAA Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite (GOES) R series satellites land surface product and the MODIS MCD18 radiation products.
