Meredith Brown is a doctoral student and Research Graduate Assistant II at the University of Maryland in the Department of Geographical Sciences. She earned a B.S. in Physics from the University of Washington and an M.S. in Climate System Science from the University of Texas at Austin. Meredith is currently supported by, and contributing to, a NASA grant for producing incident Shortwave Radiation and Photosynthetically Active Radiation (PAR) products from MODIS and geostationary satellite data, her dissertation research will be on assessing the impacts of diffuse solar radiation on agricultural crop yield. Meredith is interested in the effects of climate change on human populations and in improving scientific literacy in the U.S., especially with respect to issues such as climate change.
