Jingfeng Huang, PhD, graduated from Tsinghua University in Beijing with two bachelor degrees in 2000, one in Environmental Science and Engineering and the other in Economic and Management. He pursued his Master degree in Environmental Hydraulics and Hydrology in Hong Kong Unveristy of Science and Technology from 2000 to 2002. He moved to the University of Manchester in United Kingdom in 2002 and obtained his PhD degree in 2006 in Remote Sensing and Hydrology in Civil and Mechanical Engineering. Dr. Huang joined the University of Miami in 2006 since when he developed his research interests broadly within Atmospheric Science and Satllite Remote Sensing. He worked at NASA Goddard Spce Flight Center on satellite aerosol algorithm development and observations for three years from 2009 to 2012. He joined NOAA NESDIS Center for Satellite Applications and Research (STAR) in 2012 and his primary task is on the Calibration and Validation of the JPSS VIIRS Aerosol Products. At CICS, Dr. Huang develops and collaborates on scientific research interests that covers but not limited to broad research fields from environmental science and engineering to atmosphere and earth science, from remote sensing to geographical information system, from environmental hydraulics to hydrology, from land processes to atmospheric science and research, and from satellite aerosol algorithm development to data validation and applications.
