Chunqiang Wu is a Visiting Assistant Research Scientist at ESSIC/CICS-MD, with Dr. Hang Yang at STAR/NOAA for about one year. Dr Wu received a B.S. degree in Atmospheric Sciences from Zhejiang University in 2005, and M.S. and Ph. D degrees in Meteorology from the Institute of Atmospheric Physics (IAP), Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2010. From Jul 2010 on, He joined the National Satellite Meteorological Center of China Meteorological Administration (NSMC/CMA). At NSMC, he leads an atmospheric parameter (temperature, humidity and ozone, etc.) retrieval subgroup based on sounds onboard FY-3 series satellites, and works as an instrument scientist of infrared sounds. At ESSIC/CICS-MD, he will work on infrared sounds calibration and validation under the framework of GSICS.
